Memories are things remembered from the past. I wanted to show the beauty of memories through the use of objects that are personal and sentimental to people. During the shoots I asked people to pick out a few objects that they found beautiful, whether this was because of how it looks, who gave it to them or the memories it holds, but I found that everyone picked items that had deeper meaning and memories behind them. This meant that my project took it’s own path and I began to explore the idea of memories and sentimentality. I photographed the objects in natural lighting and surroundings to make my work feel as natural as possible. I did the shoots with the individual present meaning that I could talk to the person about the object and really delve into why it was special to them and try to capture and portray this in my images.
